INTENSITY LED V2 DRIVING LIGHT RANGE

Engineered in Australia and manufactured in the United States, the ARB Intensity LED light range has been specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of 4WDers throughout the world. From producing white light that is the closest possible imitation of sunlight, to a virtually indestructible polycarbonate lens, these lights are the premium choice. Built with the latest LED technology, the Intensity V2 driving lights feature higher wattage ‘OSRAM GIANTS’ LEDs to deliver a light that is controlled and focused for the naked eye to see. Unlike high-intensity discharge (HID) lights, the LED range does not require time to warm up, and performs brilliantly on corrugated roads by producing a broad field of light that helps diffuse vibration. AR40 V2 INTENSITY LED LIGHT BAR

Engineered in Australia and manufactured in the United States using the same patented lens/reflector technology as ARB’s existing Intensity LED driving lights, the ARB Intensity V2 LED light bar utilises Hyperspot™ optics and advanced flood optics to intensify the light output of the 40 OSRAM LEDs (2 rows of 20) encased in a virtually indestructible polycarbonate lens and powder coated, extruded aluminium body with high-pressure die-cast end caps. Note: Intensity AR40 V1 LED Light Bar featured in video. Designed to integrate with the top tube of the bull bar, the AR40 V2’s extruded alloy housing wraps around the tube, providing a low-profile integration with the bar work to maximise airflow to the cooling system and reduce obstructions. Its unique tube clamp mounting system sits out of view and delivers incredible stability for off-road use, eliminating vibration while being adjustable so that it won’t interfere with aerial mounting tabs, leaving them free to be used for their intended function. Performance is paramount, with a heat sink that has over 435,000 mm² of surface area, allowing the light bar to dissipate heat quickly and operate at optimum efficiency even when the vehicle is stationary or at low speed. Integral to the design is a range of virtually indestructible, moulded polycarbonate covers, hard-coated for scratch and UV resistance and available in a range of colours to further enhance protection from the elements.

OSRAM LEDS WITH HYPERSPOT™ TECHNOLOGY

To provide an intense amount of light in all driving conditions, the AR40 Intensity V2 Light Bar utilises OSRAM Giant LEDs to produce up to 25,080 lumens of raw light output (AR40CV2). For a single AR40CV2 combo, this means a light throw of 926m @ 1Lux and 40m of spread across the front of the vehicle. Plus, the warmer colour temperature (5700K) assists driver comfort and reduces eye fatigue. A refined optic used to focus and intensify the light output as well as drive the OSRAM LEDs a great distance down the road, the Hyperspot™ technology also maintains clarity in the beam and controls the beam pattern to the correct area without spilling into unnecessary areas.   FEATURES • A unique moulded rubber seal sits between the polycarbonate lens and cast aluminium body to create a watertight and dustproof seal, allowing the light to achieve an IP68 rating - meaning protection against dust ingress and submersion up to 3 metres. • Virtually indestructible, UV resistant polycarbonate lens provides protection against road debris. • High pressure cast aluminium end caps contains a Gore® breather, enabling expansion and contraction of internal air during temperature fluctuations, without allowing water or dust ingress. • Large, extruded aluminium body provides superior strength and acts as a heat sink to draw heat generated from the electronics away from the LED array, increasing the efficiency and life of the LEDs. • Mounting kits are available to suit three different tube diameters and are designed specifically to fit ARB bull bars. Constructed from extruded aluminium, with stainless steel fasteners, the unique mounts provide a solid clamp between the light and the tube, minimising vibration and movement. A NEW INTENSITY OF DRIVING LIGHT Filled with features, Intensity Solis driving lights are available in a Spot or Flood beam which come with interchangeable red and black die-cast side bezels. New to the Intensity range is the Solis’ 5-stage dimmability function, while the introduction of a highly tuned single-piece reflector and 165 watts of OSRAM LED performance bring it to the top of the class in light output. Not just a remarkable performer, Intensity Solis driving lights represent a value proposition that is worth considering if you’re looking to add some additional driving lights to your vehicle. • Featuring a one-piece reflector with 36 unique and independently tuned reflector cups. • The combination of 6x 10 watt and 30x 4 watt LEDs make up the full set with varying narrow and wider beam angles to optimize performance. • Submersible up to 9.8 feet. • Virtually indestructible. • High-pressure die-cast aluminum mount brings the light lower on its fastening position to increase strength and limit light bounce. • Ford durability and protection • 5 preset output settings allow you to alter the intensity of your Intensitys!

Spot, Flood or a Combination?

How you set up your driving lights should reflect the type of driving and terrain you are driving in. In areas of wide open land and fast roads such as Outback Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory, a set-up of two spot lights will give you the best throw of light reaching as far down those long straight roads as possible. For drivers who are predominantly in heavy bush with lots of winding roads such as the Victorian High Country, a set-up of two flood lights will fill the foreground, giving you great visibility to the side of the roads where roos like to hide and throught he next close corner. For most drivers, however, the combination of one spot (driver’s side) and one flood provides the best of both worlds. The single spot throws a strong direct beam down the road over 1km, while the flood beam fills the foreground and roadside what is often considered the optimal driving light pattern and output.

The combination of 6x 10 watt and 30x 4 watt performance OSRAM LEDs with a highly tuned reflector design has brought the Intensity Solis to the top of the class in light output. Measured as a pair of spot beams, the Solis boasts 1 lux @ 1462 metres. Individually, a single flood beam will achieve 1 lux @ 729 metres while one spot beam has an impressive 1032 metres throw. Lights this bright need some level of containment, which is why Intensity Solis lights are sold standard with a 5-stage dimmability switch. The ability to dim driving lights is perfect for when you’re approaching highly reflective road signs and is also really effective in low visibility scenarios (such as dust).

While the Solis’ light output figures are impressive, what the light really offers the driver is so much greater! The ultimate goal when designing a driving light is to get two light patterns, one spot and one flood, that offer light where you actually need it. To be most effective, a driving light needs to light the areas of the road and surrounds that match the terrain and driving style. Your driving lights need to be effective either as a matching pair (of spots or floods) or as a combination (one spot and one flood). Creating a light pattern that shines the furthest doesn’t always mean the light is useable – let alone optimal. Driving lights need to have good central light and shouldn’t have harsh edges, but rather a good feathering of light that bleeds off. Additionally, the light should not be too white as it can cause additional eye strain for the driver, nor should the light throw too much intensity onto the foreground directly in front of the vehicle. ARB Intensity Driving lights (V2 and Solis) are tuned to provide the optimum offering to suit the above criteria.

SQUATTING DESIGN STRENGTH

The squat shape of the new light better suits bull bar pan mounting and helps with lowering the centre of gravity of the lights, making them more stable with less oscillation and vibrating which puts less stress on light and bull bar mounting components (including tabs where applicable). The Solis light is mounted in an all black, vertical-pivoting adjustable, cast aluminium cradle. Looking at the side profile, ARB engineers have shaped the heat sink casting with a narrower section at the top of the light and a wider section towards the base. The result? A large light which fits a wide variety of applications with more room to fit in front of big tubes, like what is used on ARB Summit Sahara bull bars.
